  • What was the first food for Hazrat Adam on Earth?

What is Ibn Jarir view about the first food of Adam on Earth?

Ibn Jarir said: The first food Adam ate on the earth was when Gabriel came to him with seven grains of wheat. Adam asked him: “What are they?” He replied: “They are from the same Tree which you were forbidden to eat from, but you ate from it.” Adam said: “Then what shall I do now with them?” Gabriel said: “Sow them in earth.” And Adam did so. Each of those grains weighed more than one hundred thousand (grains of now) [1] . They grew, and Adam harvested them, then ground them, then kneaded them, then baked from them bread and ate them, after it had taken so much of his effort and hard work. That is what the Qur’an has indicated in this Verse:

“So do not let him expel you both from the Paradise, so that you would suffer hardship.”

Chapter 20 (Surah Taha) verse 117

How long did Adam and Eve stay in paradise?

  • How long did Adam and Eve stay in paradise?

Scholars are of different opinion about the duration of stay of Adam and Eve in Paradise. One opinion suggests that it was a portion of a day like the days of this world.  Abu Huraira reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) took hold of my hands and said: “Adam was created in the last hour of Friday “[1] And there is another narration:  “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday.” [2]

If he was expelled (from Paradise) on the same day in which he was created – and we said that those six days mentioned in the Hadith in this respect are like the days of ours – then it will be assumed that he stayed only a few hours of it. This opinion, however, does not seem to be credible. However, if his expulsion took place on some other day, other than the day in which he was created, or if we hold that the length of those days were equal to six thousand years, then he would have stayed there (in Paradise) for a long period.

What is Ibn Jarir view on the stay of Hazrat Adam in paradise?

Ibn Jarir said: It is known that Adam was created in the last hour of Friday. One hour of it is equal to eighty-three years and four months. He remained for forty years in his earthen body, before the soul was breathed into him. Then he stayed in the Paradise for forty-three years and four months before his expulsion. And Allah is the Best Knower.

  • Is Shaytan a Disbeliever?

    Shaytan – worst disbeliever

Allah answers this question by Himself:

    وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

“And remember when We said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” so they all did—but not Iblis, who refused and acted arrogantly, becoming unfaithful.”

    Chapter 2 (Surah Al-Baqarah) verse 34

So, the Shaytan showed pride, and indeed he was from the disbelievers. In fact, Allah says, ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۖ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ لِرَبِّهِۦ كَفُورًۭا. “And the Devil is ever ungrateful to his Lord.” [1] So, Shaytan showed extreme disbelief and extreme arrogance. And Shaytan is not just a disbeliever; he is the worst disbeliever. But if Shaytan believes in Allah, then what technically makes him a disbeliever?

Well, first and foremost, there are different levels of disbelief, and there are different ways to reject. Kufr really means to reject.

    The disbelievers of Mecca

The disbelievers in Mecca, they didn’t deny Allah’s existence. In fact, Allah says if you were to ask them who created the heavens and the Earth, they would say it’s Allah [2]. So they had no problem acknowledging that Allah created the heavens and the Earth, but they associated partners with Allah, so they had a different type of kufr. They diluted and corrupted the religion of Abraham, and they added elements of shirk (associating partners with Allah—polytheism). There wasn’t a denial of Allah, but there was a deficiency in them in the way that they viewed Allah to a point that it became disbelief and polytheism.

    What made Shaytan a disbeliever?

He had some elements of belief, but he had a destructive element of disbelief that overcame his belief. He understood that Allah is His Lord, and he also knew Allah’s names and attributes, but he failed to acknowledge the Lordship of Allah, and that is a form of major kufr. So, the kufr of Shaytan was not in the form of denial, but it was to reject and to feel a sense of pride.
To give you guys a good perspective of what I am trying to say, let me give you an example. It is a consensus of the scholars that if a person denies the obligation of Salah (Prayer) then even if he prays five times a day, that person is a disbeliever. You pray five times a day, but you deny that prayer is an obligation upon you, you are a disbeliever by consensus. [3] So Iblis (Shaytan), even though he believed that Allah is his Lord, is a disbeliever.
  • What kind of names did Allah teach Hazrat Adam?

What kind of names did Allah teach Hazrat Adam?

Allah taught Hazrat Adam the names of Everything

He taught Adam the names of all things, then He presented them to the angels and said, “Tell Me the names of these, if what you say is true?” They replied, “Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. You are truly the All-Knowing, All-Wise.” Allah said, “O Adam! Inform them of their names.” Then when Adam did, Allah said, “Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the earth, and I know what you reveal and what you conceal?”

    Chapter 2 (Surah Al-Baqarah) verse 31-33

What kind of names did Allah teach Hazrat Adam? Ibn ‘Abbãs u said about these names: These are the names of those objects through which people recognise things and communicate in their daily life, be they big or small, like humans, animals, earth, lands, seas, mountains, camel, donkey, and similar names of the nations and otherwise. Mujahid said: He taught him the names of dishes and pots. He taught him the names of every animal, every bird and every thing. That is how it is explained also by Sa’id bin Jubair, Qatadah and others. Ar-Rabi said: He taught him the names of the angels. However, the preferable opinion is that Allah taught him the names of all creation, and their functions, be they smallest of objects or largest of them, as indicated by In ‘Abbas.

Hazrat Adam told the names to angels

Then He displayed them before angels and said: ‘Tell me the names of these if you are truthful.” Al-Hasan Al-Basri says: When Allah intended to create Adam, the angels said: “Our Lord does not create any creature but we are more knowledgeable than that creature.”So they were put to a test, and that is why He said: “If you are truthful.” The angels said: “Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us, You are the All-Knowing, All-Wise.” He (then) said: ‘O Adam! Tell them of their names.’ When he had told them of their names, Allah said: ‘Did I not tell you that I know the unseen (secrets) of the heavens and the earth, and I know what you reveal and what you conceal.” Meaning I know the secrets and hidden (of this existence) as I know the known and most manifest of every creature).

  • Why is it so easy to acquire paradise nowadays?

Why is it so easy to acquire paradise nowadays?

    An angle comes to you

Let’s create a fictitious scenario. You are seated in your backyard. The sun is starting to die, and it is already evening. The sun suddenly brightens and an angle comes to you. It offers you two options. Option 1: You can travel back in time to the Conquest of Makkah. Option 2: Accompany Prophet Muhammad during the era of ignorance. Which will you pick? Let me tell you something before you choose. At that time they were alone. They used to pray alone. They used to preach alone. They used to suffer alone. At that time, they were Islam. They were the pillars of Islam. Hazrat Zayd ibn Harithah رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ was one-forth of Islam. During Makkah, Hazrat Zayd ibn Harith رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ became the fourth individual to convert to Islam. They were by themselves at the moment. They were alone when they suffered. They were Islam back then. They served as the cornerstones of Islam. One-forth of Islam was Hazrat Zayd ibn Harithah رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ. It is aptly said that:

Be like a diamond, precious and rare, not like a stone, found everywhere”

You can now make a decision. You have the option of becoming the fourth pillar of Islam or joining the thousands of other Muslims once it was created. Once more, we live in a period when there are no real Muslims. We are in an era of so much conflicts and distractions. Islam now needs people like Umer, Abu Bakar, Ali and Usman. If one of us takes the initiative to repair even one Islamic organ it will seem as though he has done everything. It is quite easy to please Allah because of this. Right now, we have the opportunity to become the largest contributors to Islam. And the nicest part of this is that we are not alone:

    Surat Al-Baqarah [2:186-264] - The Noble Qur'an - القرآن الكريم

“When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way˺”

    -Surah Baqarah, verse 186

    You are the hero now

Now it is the time to reset Islam. Now it is the time to take Islam from zero to infinity. And if we have to do this then why not start with one or two. Now you will understand the hadith of Musnad Aḥmad 12579:

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

I wish I could meet my brothers.” The companions of the Prophet said, “Are we not your brothers?” The Prophet said, “You are my companions, but my brothers are those who have faith in me yet they never saw me.”

It’s our time to shine and do something that will become a cause of entering paradise (inshallah). wanna know how you can do this? Read this:

    Surah Al-Isra, verse 70

Allah says in the Holy Quran in Surah Al-Isra, verse 70 that:
“Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam, carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions, and privileged them far above many of Our creatures.”
This passage implies that some creatures must be even more advance and superior than humans, doesn’t it? Let’s see.
First and foremost, humans are not the only creatures of Allah with free will. There are some other creations of Allah that we are unaware of. In At-Tin verse 4 of another surah of the Quran, Allah states:
“surely We created man in the best mould
This means that mankind is the most in glorious in sight. But there are The Jinns who were created from smokeless fire. They are therefore just as amazing as humans.

What is Ibn Taymiyyah view about Hazrat Adam (a.s.)?

Ibn Taymiyyah said about Prophet Adam (a.s.):

“Aadam, as well as the righteous people among his progeny, are better than angels even though the humans are created from clay and the angels are created from light.”

Those who do good deeds are the best

Regarding the best people, Allah says in the Holy Quran Surah Al-Bayyinah verse 7:

“But those that believe and work righteous deeds, they are the best of creatures.”

This verse makes it abundantly evident that the greatest of all creations are those who obey Allah and His messenger and carry out good acts.

In another verse, Allah says: (Al-Hujurat, verse 13)

“O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware.”

It is mentioned in Ghrar al Hikam, vol. 5 page 92 that Imam Ali (a.s.) said:

Nobody on the planet is more admirable in Allah’s eyes than someone who obeys Him.”

Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) is the Best creation of Allah

It is important to highlight that the superiority of our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him over all of creation, including the angels, is not part of this debate, as Prophet Muhammad  peace be upon him is absolutely the finest of all creation.

It is narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“I shall be pre-eminent amongst the descendants of Adam on the Day of Resurrection and I will be the first intercessor and the first whose intercession will be accepted (by Allah).”

    Conclusion

Terjemahan Al Quran Bahasa Melayu - Surah Ghaafir

I want to conclude this by verse 57 of Surat Ghafir: “The creation of the heavens and the earth is certainly greater than the re-creation of humankind, but most people do not know.”

That being the case, we can claim that Allah has made other creatures capable of surpassing ourselves.
